A little encouragement on areas to give thanks to God:
For God! Specifically, God’s goodness and everlasting love.
Psalm 118:1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever.
For the small daily provisions that occur.
Mark 8:7 They had a few small fish as well; he gave thanks for them also and told the disciples to distribute them.
Luke 17:16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him
For God hearing our prayers.
John 11:41 Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.”
For those who are walking this journey of faith with us.
Romans 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.
For our experiences of deliverance.
Romans 7:25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
For God moving in the hearts of those who are very dear to us.
2 Corinthians 8:16 Thanks be to God, who put into the heart of Titus the same concern I have for you.
For Scriptures — the Word of God — that actually works in us!
1 Thessalonians 2:13 And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
In our celebration of Thanksgiving — however that may look — may we embed into our lives a daily expression of gratitude. What are you grateful for?
What can bring stability into our lives and a tether for stormy seasons?
What has built-in and guaranteed dividends?
What can touch even the deepest part of us?
Jesus answers those questions in his conclusion to his sermon! Join us this Sunday for the last sermon in The Way series!
Along with all the areas above, I thank God for you!!
