Matthew 7:16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
According to a blog at basket.com, evidently our favorite fruit says something about us. Check it out to see if there is any accuracy to it:
Apple — an easy going personality and a willingness to adapt to your surroundings
Banana — a fun loving type of person who admires the simple things in life
Orange — a vibrant person, always capable of cheering up a friend
Strawberry — you have killer manners and are always polite
Grape — open to change, you don’t like remaining stagnant for too long.
Raspberry — persistent and you don’t mind going against the grain*
I wonder what lemons indicate?
Now I can’t vouch for the accuracy of that blog in terms of our favorite fruits linking to personality types, but God shares in Scriptures that there are actually some ‘fruit’ that can accurately reflect whose we are and whom we follow.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
If we are recognized by our fruit, as Jesus says, what are people ‘recognizing’ in us?
Do they see any of the fruit of the Spirit with consistency and ripeness?
love – joy – peace – patience – kindness – goodness – faithfulness – gentleness – self-control
May these be our favorite fruits.
