Easter’s come and gone but the challenge continues. It just wasn’t the same, not being able to get dressed up for church, go on an Easter Egg Hunt, or discovering what the Easter Bunny left me in the basket on Easter morning. I especially miss the big family dinner. But we are still the church, connected to God and each other in the Spirit, and able to talk with each other by phone, computer, and now Zoom!
Remember, we are the church, the fellowship of believers…even at a safe distance. We look forward to the day when we can all meet again face-to-face in the same room, sing together, talk with each other, eat together and maybe even get a hug or two.
We NEED the church. It shapes us, inspires us, empowers us, and offers us an opportunity to embark on the purpose for which we were created in the first place. It’s no mistake that we are here in this place at this time. Now we just have to figure out what God has in mind for us and we can do it together. Stay connected to God and this fellowship.
This Sunday I will address Part 2 in THE EASTER CHALLENGE: The Need for Church Life. And it is quite a “challenge” to be the church when we are separated like this, but God is with us, so look at it as an unplanned spiritual adventure. How will you endure? How will you stay alive? How will you grow?
