We’re in week 4 of the Easter Challenge and we will touch on The Mission to Reach Others. We have been created in the image of God with an eternal spirit, so some things we do while here on earth will have everlasting significance. But our time here is limited, so how do we best spend our time and energy?
Of course, we first have to get “right” with God and “get saved” by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. But once we have taken that important step, God infuses us with His Holy Spirit to transform us and shape us more-and-more into the likeness of Christ. We won’t actually become Christ, but we participate in His mission to reach this hurting world. We are here with a mission. He has given us a Great Commission (read Matthew 28:19-20)
Eventually, Judgement Day will come and we will have to give an account of what we did with the opportunities that He laid before us. We have all we need to do His will. The big question is, Will We? Take a look at Matthew 25:31-46 and try to determine if you are a Sheep or a Goat. It sounds funny to put it that way, but in the end it really matters. “I just want to be a sheep, Baa, Baa!”
Please note that as part of our time together, we will be celebrating communion. Please be prepared to celebrate with us by having some communion elements ready. These elements don’t have to be traditional elements, please choose something you have on hand.
