Sunday, April 5, 2020
Join us online here (March 29 service currently running) for worship this Sunday, April 5 at 10:00a. Our corporate online worship service will be available to begin watching at 9:50a and will last about an hour. This is a great opportunity to stay connected even though we aren’t able to meet in person! As part of CCCov’s Online Worship Service you will have the opportunity to say hello to all of us joining in through an integrated chat window, share prayer requests with the church staff, and more. On Sunday, one way we would love to connect with you is having you share a selfie of you joining us for worship on Facebook during our worship service together! Simply take a selfie – with the church service in the background and upload it to Facebook! On the post tag the church @claycentercovenant – so that we know you are tuning in!
Pastor’s Blog- April 5
As a child, I remember marching in a line with a group of other kids around my home church, waving palm branches as the congregation stood up and sang at the top of their lungs, “Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the Highest!” They sang, “Glory! Glory! Glory to the King of Kings!” The sanctuary became an atmosphere that was festive, one of celebration. An atmosphere of worshipping Jesus, THE King of Kings!
As Jesus entered into Jerusalem that day, the same festive atmosphere took place…people were looking for hope, looking to be rescued from their situation, but what does this all mean? Did they know what they truly needed to be rescued from?
Many times, as the celebration comes to a close we like to run to the next celebration…we jump to the celebration of the resurrection. In order for us to see the depth of Christ’s love for us, we can’t jump ahead to the next celebration without first walking through the events that took place during Holy Week.
As we gather together (online) to celebrate Palm Sunday, don’t just ahead. We must look to the cross before we look at the empty tomb and celebrate once again. In doing so, we recognize that even in the midst of the darkness, in the midst of the silence, God was at work!
My friends, I long for us to gather together in person, to worship and celebrate! During this time when we are physically apart, may we not miss the mighty ways that God is at work. My prayer is that God will open our eyes to see how He is at work and that we would be willing to join Him in that work.
I look forward to gathering with you all (online) this Sunday!
