July 5, 2020
Join us this Sunday in Dexter Park Band Shell at 9:00 am on Sunday, July 5, 2020.    If you are unable to attend in person, we will also be making our service available through our online church platform (claycentercovenant.online.church) or on our YouTube channel (claycentercovenant.com/youtube) through a live stream. Also, in the case of inclement weather, we would meet online.

It’s important to recognize that while the COVID-19 curve has flattened in Kansas, it hasn’t been eradicated.  Therefore, it’s critical that Clay Center Covenant Church continue to take steps to ensure the wellbeing of everyone who gathers together with us.

As we meet in the park these are the steps we are taking together to help make meeting together possible:

  • Maintain social distance of at least six feet
  • Shaking hands & giving hugs are discouraged
  • Please keep your children with you for the duration of service
  • Please stay home if you are feeling ill or have a temperature
  • Rather than passing baskets for the offering, we will have a designated location where you will be able to drop off your offering before or after the service.

Pastor’s Blog 7-5-20.

By now you know that a regular, recurring theme of mine is that we were created by God to be in relationship with Him. He is the Living God and desires a living relationship with us. The church is the Body of Christ. We are not just another social organization.

For a healthy relationship we must learn to communicate…and communicate regularly. God made this possible with His gift of Prayer. We can actually speak to God. And with some practice and openness, we can hear Him communicate back to us. We need to be People of Prayer, and not just people who can recite long, loud and fancy speeches up to the sky. The prayers that move God are simple, authentic, and heartfelt. Be real.

But the Christian Challenge grows. We are called to follow after Jesus and this Christian life was never meant to be comfortable and safe. Jesus said, take up your cross and follow me (Matthew 16:24). In his recently released book, Dangerous Prayers, Pastor Craig Groeschel leads through three prayerful steps of surrendering ourselves to God: 1) Search Me; 2) Break Me; and 3) Send Me. Talk about a challenge?

Have you totally surrendered to God? Is Jesus really your Lord? Where might He be sending you? Where is God sending us as a church?
