Light In The Pit X

Genesis 50:20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
Joseph had come to the place in his faith where he utterly believed in the goodness of God; the conviction that every action of God is dripping of goodness.
It is a bit different than believing in Romans 8:28 where “we know that God will work all things together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose.”
It seems that Joseph would put an “AND” between Romans 8:28 and Genesis 50:20.
I know that God will work all things together for good AND I know that God means it for good.
And he might even add that the “means it for good” part often doesn’t even involve us. Joseph was quick to note that the evil that infiltrated his life, through God, was good for keeping many alive.
I know that God will work all things together for good AND I know that God means it for good.
Sometimes our pendulum swings more heavily on Romans 8:28; other times it is Genesis 50:12; a few occasions it is set right in the middle.
The cross and resurrection may be the best at centering both for us.
I know that God will work all things together for good AND I know that God means it for good.
