Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Oh, we like this verse!
The seemingly endless possibilities.
And then, when that verse is followed up with the assurance of accomplishment and completion that verse 8 offers — we are overflowing with excitement!
Matthew 7:8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Everyone receives… finds… has the door opened for them!
It is an amazing offer!
In our gush over these verses, do we miss the opportunity of part 1 in all these phrases?
Do we actively ask?
Do we intensely search?
Do we continually pound the knuckles?
Could it be that we want the part 2 without the part 1?
Ask a seasoned veteran of these verses which part actually brings the most joy, and we will hear testimonies about the overwhelming benefit in the asking, the seeking, and the knocking.
That is where a relationship with our Heavenly Father comes to fruition! (see vs 7:9-11)
