This week we celebrate the graduation of our high school and college students. It’s an odd year with the Covid virus shutting down all public gatherings, but it is still a time to remember and celebrate their accomplishments and envision their next steps in life. Tune it to see the awesome video of our graduates.
Ironically, that coincides with my sermon this week, “The Journey Forward.” We finish off the Easter Challenge series with a reminder of who we are, where we’ve been, and where do we go from here? The challenge is to let God guide your path and let Him shape you along the way.
I will speak of two Biblical personalities, examples of how God carries on His ministry to the world through different people and how He might use even you. The first character is Peter, a brash plunger of a man who makes tons of mistakes along the way. But the Lord teaches him, gives him many “second chances” and uses Peter’s character to start the church. Next comes Paul, who originally went about tracking down and persecuting Christians. God transforms Paul, giving him new insight and using his driven personality to be the world’s first, and greatest missionary evangelist.
We’re next. We might not be Peter or Paul, but God has a plan for each of us. He will use us in a distinct way if…IF…we agree to walk with Jesus every day, let Him lead the way, and invite Him to mess with our lives and transform us into the people He intends us to be. Talk about a challenge?!
