What is the first and most important promise God makes to His people in the Bible?
Do you know what the most important promise God makes in Bible is? Most Christians would probably answer this question by citing John 3:16 or something else from the gospel accounts. However, all the promises found in the New Testament (including John 3:16) flow from the foundational promise given to Adam and Eve in Genesis2: the promise of life – as symbolized by the fruit from the Tree of Life in the garden of Eden.
For our Easter celebration this year, we will explore together the promise of “life” which God originally offered to Adam and Even in the garden, how they exiled themselves (and the rest of us!) from God’s life-giving presence by rejecting this promise, and how God has restored this precious promise of life to us through the death and resurrection of His Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.
So we want to invite you to join us this coming Sunday for Part One of a three-part drama/message series which will explore the giving, loss, and restoration of God’s promise of life to His people. Having just finished the BLESS series on creative ways to reach out to others with the life-giving message of Jesus Christ, we want to encourage you to prayerfully consider inviting friends and family who do not have a church-home to join us for this Easter series.
I look forward to sharing more with you on Sunday!
