Friendships based on our common faith in Christ is at the heart of what it means to be the church. Therefore, we believe that the Christian life is best lived out in community, not isolation. To help cultivate biblical community, we have created “Home Groups” which are built on the vision of community provided by the early church in Acts 2:42-47. Outside of Sunday morning corporate worship, Home Groups are our most vital ministry. Home Groups allow people to develop deeper relationships, receive practical instruction as well as pastoral care and accountability. We also envision Home Groups becoming a key vehicle for mission and outreach. Below is a brief sketch of the vision and basic components of our Home Group ministry.
Vision:
To reproduce vibrant, Spirit-driven A-2 (Acts 2:42-47) communities throughout Clay Center Covenant Church
Core Values:
- Connectional: we value genuine fellowship and connecting our lives together and living out the Acts 2 fellowship.
- Biblical: we value the Word of God as given to us through the Apostles and will build our curriculum around sound, practical principles which will assist us in our spiritual growth.
- Missional: we value and commit ourselves to being “outwardly focused” in our groups and personal lives.
